Mon 10 Mar 2008
Here, in very brief language, is what we have done as of this Monday evening:
Friday, March 7
Drove to Chicago
Flew to San Antonio
Saw the Alamo and River Walk
Flew to Mexico City
Took a cab to the Hotel Premier with luggage, unstrapped, on top of the taxi
Saturday, March 8
Took a 8-hour bus ride from Mexico City to Calnali, including a stop for us (yes, us) to change the flat tire on the bus
Sunday, March 9
Some went to mass
Shopped at a local market for the week’s food, including cow tongue
Climbed a mountain
Monday, March 10
Poured a concrete floor after carrying the supplies across a river by foot, literally
Watched a cow get slaughtered and then butchered
More to come tomorrow!

Wow - busy trip so far! Good thing you built in extra time to change that tire. So, did everyone’s luggage make it to the Hotel and has everyone tried cow tongue? And, who slaughtered the cow in front of you?
Thanks for the update - sounds interesting and completely exhausting!

Hola ASB 2008!!! It appears that you have had a number of adventures in the short period of time you have been there. I enjoy reading the posts and thinking about all the good work you are doing. This experience is truly one you will remember for a lifetime. Please take a lot of pictures for us to see when you get back.
Have a safe remainder of the trip and HAVE FUN.
Hasta luego,

So you went shopping for food but what are you all eating? I am dying to hear the little things like food and so on. What do people realy eat in Mexico where do they go to the bathroom. I mean you are putting floors in houses so do they have bathrooms? Tell us more about the things that would blow our minds. Kinda like last year the kids had to pay to ride the bus to school. tell me the little oddities. Do they dress like us? Do they have power? Running water? uuuuug I want to know everything
PS I miss you Mark actually we all miss you. The boys havent been away from you this long since you went to Camp Boggy Creek. Drop them an email they are asking about you now.
